INTRODUCTION

Arabic is one of the international languages and sixth in the table of official languages recognized by the United States. Arabic is one of the oldest and live  language which has undergone no change as for as classical Arabic is concerned during last 1500 years.
Arabic is spoken in 22 countries by more than 200 million people and is learned as second language in many countries.
Muslims in the world reserve Arabic language as the language of Holy Quran and Sunnah which are the basis of all Islamic knowledge.
HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
Arabic was introduced as an optimal subject in the college in 1988 vide Higher Education Order No.; HE / Plan – 47/87 Dated: 18/07/1988.
The department started under the headship of Dr. Yasin Ahmad Shah with a little number of students. The number of students get motivated towards the subject from Islamic point of view and also to get an opportunity to work in Arabic countries without any problem.
The department of Arabic pursues a mission to input quality education and to inculcate all the four basic language skills in its students. Arabic has got a very good market value now as the students from different professional fields try to learn it in order to get adjusted in Arabic world for their career.
The department of Arabic presently is headed by Dr. Abdul hamid Lone who has a long experience of teaching this subject and motivation skills.

The head department of Arabic has been honoured as he has been elected by the staff as staff secretary of the college.
