Degree College Pulwama was housed in a middle school building at Pulwama-Shopian road near District Administration Complex for about fifteen long years and was shifted into the present campus situated at Pulwama-Newa-Srinagar road in the year 2001 with only main building comprising Administrative Block and as many as sixteen lecture halls of 40’ x 32’ dimension which was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs228 Lac with R&B Division Pulwama as its executing agency.

In the same year construction of three storied lecture block at the hands of JKPCC as its executing agency at an estimated cost almost 290 Lac was started and science stream was incepted in the year 2002 with its ground floor almost complete housing all the four science departments viz. Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany. The process continued till 2007 till the whole block was almost complete with full-fledged departments including BCA Department at the second floor.

Simultaneously construction of girls common room cum recreation hall at an estimated cost of Rs 51.50 Lac was going on at the hands of same executing agency i.e. JKPCC .

In the year 2005, erstwhile Hon’ble Chief Minister of the state Jenab Mufti Mohd Syed paid a visit to the college and on spot sanctioned an amount of Rs. 10 Lac for construction of fish pond and beautification of the canal flowing through the college campus and the work was executed by Rural Developmental Department Pulwama in collaboration with Department of Fisheries Pulwama.

Following next was construction of Geography Block at an estimated cost of Rs 36 Lac, construction of Admission cum Examination Block at an estimated cost of Rs 29.27 Lac. Construction of Gardeners hut at an estimated cost of almost 13.18 Lac, construction of 12-room Lecture Block at an estimated cost of Rs 167 Lac and construction of OBC hostel at an estimated cost of Rs 120 Lac by Social Welfare Department with R&B Pulwama as executing agency for the aforementioned works.

Under SPA grant, construction of two Lavatory Blocks one each for boys and girls at an estimated cost of Rs 15 Lac, one Canteen Block and a Dispensary Block each at an estimated cost of Rs 15 Lac was carried out at the hands of JKPCC in the year 2011-12. Construction of boundary walling at an estimated cost of Rs 60 Lac is near to completion.

In the recent past i.e. in the year 2012, Member Parliament Raja Saba Jenab Gh Nabi Ratni Pori was generous enough by sanctioning a handsome amount from his MPLAD funds that cover the construction of iron woven mesh on the canal flowing through the college campus, Fencing of the Botanical Garden, levelling of one of the front lawns and construction of interior paths. The execution of all these works at the hands of R&B Division Pulwama is in progress.

Moreover, construction of car-parking area, car-parking sheds and above all construction of approach road from Administrative Block to Geography Block via Twelve Room Lecture Block is in progress.

Furthermore, as a courtesy gesture from J&K Bank Ltd Pulwama construction of ATM near the main gate is almost complete and will be available for students and staff of the college for carrying out their routine day to day transactions very soon.
